In 2.5 hours Jeff and Dave Rummel were able to get Molly II running. Next we need to get her stopping, but after 2.5 hours in the heat they are stopping for the day. Hopefully we can get a group together again to get her stopping.

After not running for year, we did not know what was happening on the inside of the motor. So we took the cautious route.

1. We put a know good battery from my car in Molly II.
2. We pulled the plugs, shot penetrating fluid into the bores.
3. Turned the motor over by hand to verify nothing was seized.
4. Then turned the motor over with the starter. This confirmed the starter was working and that primed the oil pump.
5. We could smell a little gas from the TBI.
6. So we put the plugs back in, hooked up the plug wires and vacuum lines.

Fuel, Air, Compression and Spark. We had all the ingredients...

Fire it up...

Nice work Dave! Looks like all of your hard work paid off in getting the car started and running again after all that time just sitting. The brakes should be more cut and dry to figure out. This car probably needs a complete brake system overhaul meaning new disks and rotors and new calipers along with a complete brake line flush. It's not the least expensive way to go but the safest especially since so much of the cost is tied up in labor which you are generously donating.
