Catoctin Mountain Cruise 2011 Sunday, 10-23rd. This is one of the best cruises I`ve ever been on. We should meet at the State Farm headquarters in Frederick at 9:30am and plan to head out by 9:45.

There will be many meet ups (mini cruises) on the way to State Farm. Those will be determined by other fellow Mustangers. Please follow the boards to find out where they`re meeting up!

The route will be the same as last year.

Remember, THIS IS A CRUISE....NOT A RACE.....

Update 10-19There will be a picnic at the end of the cruise. We are asking people to bring a desert or cash for the 50/50 raffle to help contribute towards expenses :btu:

We`re having burgers, dogs, cole slaw, potato salad, exc. If you would like a veggie burger please bring it. We`ll be more than happy to throw it on the grill for ya! :drinkingbuddies:

I'm hoping to make this cruise this year. It seems that I always have a commitment in October when that cruise comes up.

The scenery is just beautiful in that part of the country in October and a cruise is the best way to enjoy seeing some of it. :btu:

I am looking to cruise up from the Carney Park and Ride. I am guessing from past cruises, we need to leave by 7:30AM.

Are the times set for meeting at either the Parkville or White Marsh park and rides? What happens if it rains?

May I suggest that Carney Park and Ride is the best place to meet. It skips the tunnel $ and is just as fast as I-95 to I-70. I checked out the trip on map quest and it shows going I-695 to I-795 to MD-26 W (Liberty Rd.) to 1 State Farm Drive Frederick, MD 21701-9332. I haven't gone that way but it looks like a more interesting ride. Either way leaving at 7:30 sounds good to me. Hard rain is a non-starter for me but iffy weather is not as the cruise is a long way from Carney. Cunningham Falls State Park, 14039 Catoctin Hollow Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788 is the destination so if you like, check the weather up there) I have missed events because of iffy weather that turned out just fine but no more. (your hind-sight gets more keen as your B-days pile up) Anyway, I am not the Boss so I am certainly open if you have different thoughts on it.

Last year a bunch of us met up at the Mt. Airy Pizza Hut around 8am.
Anyone interested ?????
