Mustang Club of Maryland

Happy Summer Everyone (not officially, but it sure feels like it!).

The club has applied to be in 3 parades for the 4th of July this year. I would like to get an idea of how many cars might be interested as we approach the holiday.

If you see a parade listed below that you are interested in, please post which parade you would like as well as the vehicle you will be riding in.

I will post more specifics on staging, etc. as I receive information from the committees.

**Please note below that it is NOT possible to drive in both the Dundalk and Towson parade. Time will only allow for one parade at this time of day.**
You may, however, drive in the Bel Air parade which is in the evening.

Dundalk Parade
Monday July 4th, begins at 8:15 am; Please be there no later than 7:15 am.
We are in group: Red 3-16.
Starts at Logan Village Shopping Center
We are to meet and line up at Logan Village Shopping Center Parking Lot which is right off Dundalk Ave. Use the entrance with the Box & Save sign and make a left. You can take 695 toward Essex, get off at Merritt Blvd. Make a right onto Holabird Ave and and then a left onto Dundalk Ave. Drive down Dundalk Ave until you see the shopping center on your left along with the parade excitement.

Towson Parade (coordinated with Lou Noplos)
Monday July 4th, begins at 10:30 am
Be there between 9 and 9:30 for line up and staging at the intersection of Towsontown Blvd. and Osler Drive.
Parade begins at Bosley and Burke Ave.
Best way to get there is to take 695 toward Towson, take Charles St. South, 2 miles down make a left on Towsontown Blvd. and then about a half mile should be Osler Drive. Say you are with MCOM and Lou should be there.

Bel Air Parade
Monday July 4th, 6pm
Staging area for MCOM is on Bond St. in front of the Bel Air Bakery; because Bond St. is one way South and we will be facing North, we cannot enter Bond St. until it is closed at 4pm.
After 4pm, we can enter from Lee St. or Alice Anne St., marshalls will be stationed at both intersections and all cars will need to display a vehicle pass. Therfore, we will be meeting prior to staging in the Harford Mall parking lot behind Macy's. This will give us a better chance of staying together and I can distribute the vehicle passes.
We will leave the mall parking lot no later than 4pm.
If for some reason you get delayed and cannot make Harford mall by 4pm, please call 410-688-4268 (Mike) to meet up for a pass.

I'm in for the Dundalk parade with 2 cars--The Mach1 and the 2010 vert

C'mon folks--NO one else interested?--This is a great chance to put the club in the public's eye--Plus a parade is fun and you'll hear a lot of compliments on your car--That's something every Mustang owner likes to hear--So step up and let us know you'll be there

Wish I could make it. I`ll be out of town on the 4th. Im going to miss the meeting too. Thankfully we have good VP`s to fill in for me.

I am planning on doing the (flat-ugg) Bel air parade. Are either of the parade routes (Dundalk/hon or Towson) manual shift friendly, i.e. downhills?

hi everyone im scott i have a 96 mustang gt and live in the baltimore area i was woundering if you guys have any space available in the dundalk parade to fit 2 more stangs ... hope to hear from someone soon thanks

Will be at Dundalk parade, two cars. '03 GT and '09 GT/CS.

I am waiting for a couple of parts to get the 86 on the road again. If so, I will be in for the bel air parade.

All-

Please don't think you can just show up for the parades. I need to provide a count of cars to the parade officials prior to Monday (that would be this weekend).

So far we have the below counts and it's not looking good for 2 out of the 3:

Dundalk- 8
Towson- 3
Bel Air- 4

If we cannot provide a good turnout, then we may have to eliminate our club from the parade which in turn hurts our chances for next year.

Don mentioned above, this is a great way to get your car noticed. You get many compliments from the spectators. This is also a great way to spread the word of MCOM and who we are. We have 3 areas we are covering. If you've never done a parade, feel free to PM me with any questions.

It looks like I'll be free to attend one of the parades on Monday, July 4th this year as I do not have a scheduling conflict like in years past.

I was hoping to do the Towson Parade but it doesn't look like anyone else from the club is attending that parade. If you still have room I can make the Dundalk Parade.

I am in for the Bel Air and Towson parades. COME ON PEOPLE! We need more cars for these two parades. Jaime has done a great job of coordinating these and we don't want to loose them in the future do we?
