Does anyone know where we will be meeting before the parade
and which TV station will be televising the parade?

I am very sorry I haven't been back to this since early on... Been so swamped.

Someone was helping me figure out the best way to get out there at last week's meeting since I don't know that area too well. And I believe this is what we came up with:

We are going to meet at the Carney Park and Ride at 6:30 AM. This is located on Harford Road right passed the Joppa Road intersection. Take 695 toward Carney and it will be about a mile off the beltway on the left.

From there we will head to the Laurel Park and Ride and hope to be there by 7:15/ 7:30 AM. The Laurel Park and Ride lot is located on the northbound side of Rte. 197 (Laurel-Bowie Rd.) - approximately 1/8 mile north of the intersection of Rte. 197 and Contee Road.

From there we will head out to Silver Spring. The parade starts at the intersection of Georgia Ave and Sligo Ave.

If there is anyone who knows a better route or meeting place, please do not hesitate to let me know. I would like to make this as easy for everyone as possible

If you would like to meet there:
Our assigned meeting spot is on Georgia Ave past the railroad bridge. From Fenton St, turn right onto Burlington Ave/Route 410/East West Highway, turn right onto Georgia Ave North. There is no access from Georgia Ave South, you must travel from Fenton. We must be there by 9 am. The parade starts at 9:30 am.

My info packet stated the parade will be televised on Channel 8. I'm not sure if that is their local news channel.

**Also, is there anyone that is participating in the parade with a convertible that would like to drive around politicians and/or beauty queens? They just reached out to me so I need to know ASAP if anyone would like to do this**

Jamie i'd rather drive Queens if that ok. but if needed for anywhere else thats ok too.

I have a vert and am willing to either be part of the club group in the parade or carry a parade participant, i.e., beauty queen or politician.

Dan - let me know if you want to travel together from Aberdeen and when/where to meet you if you want to do that. Otherwise, I'll meet the group at the Carney P&R.

Right after I posted my message last night, we had our plans changed. I will not be able to participate in the SS parade. I apologize.

Ok I have Dansgt and edaum down for driving around the important people ;)

I made the call today to let them know, they may or may not use the verts but wanted to know they were available just in case.

I also have 14 car passes that allow us into the parade. We currently have 12 members riding, if anyone else would like to join, there are 2 more open spots.
