Here it is. This is the exact car that was wrecked then stripped and switched over to my Black GT body. I sold it to my parents neighbor and he wrecked it. Not very bad though but the insurance company totalled it so it got stripped. Now my mom and dad want to keep their white stang and do a total restoration on it. They cant do the work themselves so I made a deal with them. Since we are gutting their car why not fix my original 87 and move their good parts (after a good reconditioning) over to my old 87. So here it is, my original baby. I stopped over their neighbors house who still had the car out back. I just asked for it back, he thought about it and said "its was always yours so take it" Free!!!! I couldnt help it but I teared up. My GT is the love of my life but theres just something about that 87. It was my second car. I was in the paint booth at midnight when it was painted. I learned how to work on cars from this baby. I am SOOO HAPPY!!!!
Oh and another funny quick story about this car. I went to Lincoln Tech in 95 and this guy name Paul Miller had a mustang that I fell in love with. I had someone run into the side of my Thunderbird and total it. The insurance company paid me $4000 for my car. I wanted a 5.0 BAD!!! I had to have one. So I offered Paul $4000 for his 87 LX 5.0. He said it was his dads car and he needed to talk to him first. He called me that night and sid okay its a deal. I never even drove the car. Hell, I had never drove a stick but I bought this car. I had my dad drive me to Bel Air to pick it up during rush hour. Lets just say there was a lot of stalling and alot of burn outs.
The car was red and the hatch didnt match but there was just something special about this car. I them painted it Deep Jewel Green and did most of the work that you now see on my black fox which was originally on the green LX.
Then last year in OC I was talking to Paul Miller who is now a member of MCOM. I them realized who he was. I hadnt talked to him since 96. I asked him of he had a 87 LX 5.0 with a hatch that didnt match. He said "Who are you, and how did you know that?" I just laughed then told him.
That just shows you will always come back to a mustang!
