Going to get my car tinted in the next few weeks. I was wondering what others have done % wise for tints. I would really like to go 20%, which is not too dark, but still not legal. (Legal in MD is 35%).

And if you have gone 20% have you had any issues. I do not drive the car everyday, so there is minimal exposure, but I don't need to get any tickets.

Why not just stay legal and not worry about it?

Issues? your gonna have them with dark tint...it's a pain in the a** for the inspection and clean up.

I'm not a dark tint fan on the color blue...just my opinion.

I got 20% on mine. i was pulled over once but got a warning. i think he was pulling me over cause he thought i was intoxicated. i deal with law enforcement alot and they tell me that 20
% is the darkest you can go without really being bothered. FYI even if you go with 35% its still illegal due to the factory tint thats already on the window. When they tested my 20% it came up 13% so 35% would appox. 28%

I've had other cars with 20% in the past and like the way it looks. Even blue cars.

Why does everyone bring up inspection ? If the car is already MD inspected, when would it need to be inspected again ? I don't understand but have heard this before.

I am aware that there is a factory tint built into the window. And you are right on with the actual percentage.

As noted this car is not a daily driver, and I drive with the front windows down anyway.

You would get it inspected again only if and when you sell it
