The Northern Virginia Mustang Club rents the track at Mason-Dixon Dragway one Sunday per month from March through September. After mentioning my "MCOM drag day" plans at our most recent MCOM meeting, one of the MCOM attendees from Virginia mentioned this club's schedule and suggested contacting the club organizers and asking about a combined club outing. I've been in contact with Cyril Coburn, the co-founder of the NVMC, and he's graciously allowed
10 MCOM cars to participate April 22 (this weekend). It runs from 8am-12pm in the morning, which is followed by normal test and tune, which means you can run all day.
Cost for each vehicle is $60 at the gate and you can be assured of getting in a good solid 15-20 runs if you stay the whole time, which is a bargain since you usually pony up $20 for maybe 3-4 runs during crowded test and tunes. Please let them know you are an MCOM member while registering--Cyril himself with be managing that process. Perhaps we can line up and register as an MCOM group. Cyril also suggests registering on their website so we can be apprised of any changes to time or date, in the off chance it rains, for example. See

Zach and I are attending, so I'm looking for 8 more cars to round out the MCOM team. If you are sure you can attend, let me know what car you are bringing to the track. Since things can happen, I'll start taking a wait list as well in case somebody bows out and we want to fill the slot.
If we can successfully show good club participation and comraderie, I can see if we can attend as a partner in future drag strip events with this club. It will also help us get a handle on the logistics for our own track rental, and we can repay the favors that our new partners like NVMC and and current partners, like the SVTOA, provide to our club.
Any thoughts or comments, just let 'em rip. Hope to see some of you folks on Sunday.
John
