Still adding things to the 97 gt vert. I love the 245/45-17 and 275/40-17 tires on the 17x9 Bullitts, but the Eibach lowering springs I just installed have changed the stance--the rear wheel/tire combo just looks too tucked in. Consensus is that either a wider wheel/tire combo is needed out back ($$$) or wheel spacers to bring the outer edge of the tire flush with the wheel well lip. In the old days, wheel spacers could be risky due to the lugs snapping or stress on the axles, but supposedly that's not so much a concern nowadays. Any experience with these? I ordered a 1" set from AmericanMuscle.com for $100--figured it was worth a shot.

If you are running a 1 inch spacer, make sure it is the kind the bolts on. Otherwise you will have problems with:
1. Stock lugs too short
2. Snapping lugs (yes it still happens, I snapped three lugs and almost lost my rear wheel with a 1/2 spacer just a few years ago)

I'm not crazy about wheel spacers especially one about 1" wide. You're moving the mass of the wheel further away from the bearings creating a moment arm or twisting on the bearings.
