NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series
Sunday's O'Reilly Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex wrapped with Tony Schumacher, (RFC) Robert Hight, Greg Anderson and (RFC) Hector Arana holding "Wally" trophies.
In Top Fuel, Schumacher's Army car ran 3.944 seconds, 312.86 mph to defeat Larry Dixon, 4.232, 225.18 mph. Two races into the Countdown championship run, Schumacher leads Dixon by 27 points.
In Funny Car, Hight's Ford Mustang clocked 4.218, 296.44 mph to beat Jack Beckman's Valvoline/MTS Dodge Charger, 4.271, 292.58 mph. Beckman qualified seventh. Hight's margin over (RFC) Ashley Force Hood is 13 points.
In Pro Stock, Anderson's Pontiac GXP went 6.684, 207.11 mph to best (RFC) Johnny Gray's Dodge Stratus, 6.713, 206.64 mph. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified ninth in the Valvoline Chevrolet Cobalt but lost in the second round. (RFC) Mike Edwards is 35 points clear of (RFC) Jeg Coughlin Jr.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Arana's Buell did a 6.979, 190.67 mph lap to take out Eddie Krawiec's Harley-Davidson, 7.005, 190.43 mph. Arana tops Krawiec by 27 points. Both Hight and Arana are 2-for-2 in the Countdown.
