Hello all, in the process of doing a head and intake swap and have run into a wall here I am pulling all the sensor and tubes from the lower intake and can not figure out how to get the heater tube out.

I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you've done this job before you must know. I can not get a wrench on it, and turn it, its about a 1 1/16" nut. If I could get a rachet on it, I would think it would pop, but with an open end, it keeps popping off.

Does the top black metal part separate from the bottom section that is threaded into the lower intake ?

Any help would be appreciated.

The lower nut turns. Ive had luck with a good adjustable wrench before. You have to keep flipping it and take a little at a time. If its real bad, break out the vice grips.....

Thanks for the input, I guess I am in the real bad section...lol..as I have tried vice grips and put a pipe over the end and still could not get it to budge, the vice grips slipped off.

I am thinking if heating it will help, I assume that Ford used some red loctite on it, as I see red paste in the threads, I originally thought it was just sealant, but now am thinking loctite.

Well I hit it with some blaster last night, hoping that it works in well, otherwise I will have to do some thinking on this.

Good news..the old PB Blaster works again. I went an picked up a 12" adjustable and got at it, and it popped loose.

Lesson learned: Should try to pop that one when on the car, as it would be much easier when its bolted down.
