I saw two infomercials on Speed Channel, one for Eagle Brand Products and the other for the new Turtle Wax Ice Product line.
I currently use the Ice interior cleaner and preservative for the dash and hard surfaces on my cars and I like it. It is a gel and does not promote that greasy look or feel but rather a subtle shine.
On the infomercial they heavily promoted the fact that the new Ice car polish could be used in direct sunlight or on a hot surface unlike most other waxes and polishes. They also promoted the fact that there is no build up of residue which makes the polishing process go faster.
As far as to how long the protection lasts or how often you need to reapply the polish I do not have an answer.
I currently use a product called New Genesis which is a proprietary formula. I met the owner of the company at Carlisle in 2004 where he was demonstrating this new product. I was totally blown away by the performance of this product in that it can be used in the direct sunlight and lasts about a year. I prefer to polish my car twice a year and use their spray on polish in between hand polishing for an added four months of protection.
The owner of the company, Art Gibson, told me that Turtle Wax was trying to buy his company to get their hands on his formula. At the time he told me that he was not interested in selling his company but maybe he changed his mind. I can no longer find his website on the internet and I have emailed him personally and he has not answered back yet.
Once I run out of the New Genesis polish I may try the Turtle Wax Ice product as it just may be the same product!
