ID number on the block is above the starter on a small-block FORD and you may need to remove the starter to see it. ID numbers on the heads should be visible with the valve covers removed.

These ID numbers will not match the VIN - rather you would consult a FORD spec book (I may have a small block book here) to determine production style, date, etc.

There are no vin numbers on 67 small blocks, just casting numbers located above and behind the starter. by matching numbers he is referring to the correct motor for the car but it might not be original motor. Otherwards the c code is 289 2 bbl. you can not get a good idea what this car is worth by this description or pics. its just a driver but if it needs floor work its not worth the asking price. fastbacks and ragtops are a lot more in demand and bring the bigger bucks. the coupes are only worth so much completed and most are not worth restoring to show condition bcuz you get more in them then the car is worthand then they get beat by fbs and conv anyway. recently a few restomoded local coupes sold for around 15k, but a lot of bucks went into them. you couldnt buy this car for 5k and match those restods for 15k as u would have much more in them.
