Has anyone removed their 99+ Steering wheel? Dan gave me his FR500 wheel to put on my Mustang. I tried the puller they rent from AutoZone it screws into two holes in the steering wheel and then you crank down on a bolt in the middle to pop it off. When I tightened it up it stripped the threads on those two holes. I have a manual for my F150 and it says to use a two claw puller for that steering wheel. Anyway just wondering if anyone has done it and had success and what you used. |

There's a good article by Chris on the BMC site. Here's a link to Chris' detailed steering wheel installation. Hopefully that helps. Good luck. http://www.bmcforums.com/showthread....steering+wheel |

Dave the kind of puller i used it went behind the steering wheel not into any holes and had a center screw that you put a wrench on and tighten it that way and the steerin wheel popped off. i still have the pulled from my work i'll drop of to your work tomorrow if you still have any problems. let me know . i can drop it off at the front desk. |

Thanks Corey but he doesn't show the wheel coming off. I PM'd him. Thanks Dan. I appreciate it. I'll be around if not just leave it at the front desk. That is the kind they called for in my F-150 manual. |

Dave, I have several of the claw-type pullers in various sizes. If you don't have the size you need, just yell and you can borrow one. |

Thanks. I also got a tip from someone. They said that after you crank it down pretty well give that large center screw a quick shot with a hammer and sometimes that pops them off. |
