Just purchased a 07 Shelby GT. I am interested in learning more about later mustangs and getting together with other owners. I would like to check out the club. From the web site it looks like you do some things I am interested in. Jim |

I purchased it from Koons Ford, thus I don't know its original owner. From what I have been able to determine its stock except for two cosmetic things. It has about 16k miles on it with its original tires. Speaking of tires mine are showing signs of dry rot and will need replacing. Any recommendations. At present I want to stay with original size, 235/50-18. Also on the list of things to do is replacing the spark plugs in case they are the infamous two piece ones. Anyone know how to tell if they were already replaced? |

It would be a good idea to remove the plugs and put anti-sieze on the threads and the long part of the tip that gets stuck. Im sure with that low of miles they have`nt been changed. I get tires from mavistire.com or tires.com and install them myself since I have a new tire machine and balancer. Id be happy to install them for you. |

I have been running the Goodyear Eagle GT Z rated tires and love them. handle great in the rain. we drove to the 45th Anny in April and it rained the whole way down and back doing 70 and no problems and handled great on open track 2 times i was on 2 different tracks. i got mine from Tirerack. both times i need them. good luck . welcome to the MCOM. |

Welcome to the club Jim. You'll feel right at home with your 07 Shelby GT. With only 16,000 miles it's almost like buying a new car. I'd replace the tires as they seem to be the originals and if you can see signs of dry rot than why take a chance? Looking forward to seeing you at some of our meetings and events. I am planning on the White Marsh Parade. Based on the Forum many of you will be there too. Looking forward to meeting you there. I am also hoping to make a meeting in January 2012. Do you know when and where it will be held? Jim :^) |
