Hello, New member here! I live in Overlea and in 1992, I became the second owner of a 1988 LX 5.0 Sedan in 2H Cabernet. Sadly, I had to park it over 10 years ago for financial reasons, but I kept it, and now I'm about to embark on a restoration. I've never done this before, so I will be bugging people for advice! In fact, if someone could recommend good, trustworthy body and machine shops, I'd appreciate it. I plan to do most of the mechanical work myself, but some things are beyond me. Hope to meet some of you on May 7 (can't make April, I'm out of town). ![]() -Tim (I'll update my signature in time) |

Welcome! I recommend Bob Thompson (MCOM President) for all that you are unable to do yourself (regarding machanic work), He also can recommend a bodyshop for you. James |

Tim, I agree with James. My wife owns a 1988 LX 5.0 convertible and we live up in Abingdon. It was well worth taking the car out to Bob. It had an oil leak, needed a tune up, and would not idle correctly. It runs like a champ now.... Welcome... Mark |

What kind of machine work are you looking to have done? Bob is fast an resonably price. Can't go wrong wiith that combination. If getting your car to Westminister is an issue, there are other quality shops in our area. I like Revolution Automotive at Belair Road and the Beltway for a local shop. revolutionautomotive@hotmail.com 4211 Overton Ave Nottingham, MD 21235 (443)865-2735 I am in the area also and can lend a help hand or tool if needed. |
