I'm a new member from Darnestown. I'm currently looking at a 1964 1/2 Convertable that may be a very early car. The date code is 25C which I understand is the 1st month of production. It was built in Dearborn and has the number 104255 In the restoration book that I have it said that the serial number always starts with 1 and that Mustangs, Falcons and Fairlanes all came off the same line and numbered in sequence regardless of which model it was. So it seems that this may be an extreemly early production for a convertable. All the other codes and numbers seem to support his as well. The original owner is looking for the title and I hope they find the original 45 year old paper! Can anyone help with further detail on the serial number? Does the regional or national club have someone that can help? The car is in rough shape, but is definatly a good candidate for restoration. If the history is correct, it should be worthy of some TLC. I've restored several cars and look forward to getting this gem back on the road. Any help appreciated! |
