Post subject: | Comp cam selection?? |
Looking for a beefy emission legal cam. I was going with a E303, but a buddy told me about the comp extreme energy cams. Not familiar with them...package will be GT40X heads and 1.7 roller rockers. I am worried about clearance with the rockers also. I am also looking for good low-end to mid range torque. Can anyone help? |

I personally don't prefer the Ford cams, theres alot more better cams out there. Those Ford cams have been around for too long. Its hard to find a beefy legal cam. But I guess anything over the .444 lift of the stock cam will be better. But I suggest going with a dual-pattern cam which means the exhaust lift is higher then the intake lift. Small Fords have been known to be restrictive on the exhaust side. Most cams are measured using 1.6 rockers, so any cam you choose will be more lift. Depending on your budget do alot of research and compare prices. The cam I bought was $250 from CompCams but TrickFlow had the same grind for $149. Just my opinion!! |

That's for the advice...I checked out the website and the stage 2 cam caught my eye. Lift and duration is in my area, close to a b cam or a crane I was looking at |
