I'm going to do sub frame connectors on my '93 vert. I'm looking for shops to do the work because I really suck at welding. One that I went to said they build their own connectors, and weld them in. Shop that stated this has excellent reviews and I have no problem using them. It's just the price was a little higher than I thought I would be paying. I've got no problem paying extra for a premium job, but they're sub frame connectors. Wouldn't a kit from maximum motorsports be just as effective ( and also cheaper)? |

I went the custom route. I have though floor 3/4 length straight tube connectors. This shop builds 8 second cars all the time. This is what they usually do. Since I drive a 13 second car, this was a bit over kill. Another shop I play with builds 11 second cars often. They always recommend the Maximum Motorsports Subframe connectors and are very happy with them. Both options would have cost me about the same amount. The MM SFC might give you 1/2 more ground clearance than the 2x2 tube I have on my car. How fast are you looking to go? Is it a dedicated GoFast car, or are you driving the family around in it? |

It's a weekend, top down, fun car. No intention to race it (other than the days that the club rents out the track). I think the through the floor would be a bit overkill for me. The custom connectors that the shop recommended to me would have been attached completely to the undercarriage, with welds placed anywhere the bars touched the body. I'm just trying to get rid of the "wet noodle" feeling I get when I drive it. It gets a little disconcerting when you can watch the body flex one way, and the dash goes the other way as your driving down the street. |

Thanks for the tips DR. By the way, I have to ask, why do I need a new smart phone? |
