you didn't say what year the car is, but I'll assume it's the '89 in you signature. Is it reading low, high, not at all, stuck in one spot, etc. A better description of the symptom can help determine the cause more quickly. |

Sorry about that. It's a 89 LX sport 5.0. From what the original owner told me is that it was reading 1/4 tank higher than what was actually in the tank. How big is the tank? I've been told 13 gallons and 15.5 gallons. I've owned the car for about 3-4 years and it wasn't until last year I actually put it on the road and up to a few weeks ago it was being driven so now I'm figuring out all the little bugs. There will be times when I have seen the gas gauge drop a few marks just from parking it at work and then leaving for lunch or home. The last time I filled up I figured I had a 1/4 tank from my mileage and few minutes down the road the fuel needle started to hover just below the Empty line mark. Stopped at the gas station and it took 13.10 gallons before the auto shut off. |
