have you replaced the fuel sending unit latley, alot of the time just prior to that going up the electric relay stays open and provides a constant drain

Was it draining before the battery was replaced? If so try disconnecting the neg terminal then place a test light between the neg terminal and the neg cable. Then see if the light is lit. Make sure you have the doors, trunk shut and the hood light removed/disconnected. If it is lit then you can start pulling fuses untill the test light goes out. (make sure the door is shut so you dont get a false reading of the interior lights pulling amps throught the test light) Once the light goes out then you know what circuit your amp. draw is in and you can go from there.

i just replaced the sending unit before the summer, and thats ok. it started draining after new battery, the only thing i think might be draining it is i put an aftermakert horn in the car. with a seperate switch by the shifter and i unhooked it today. that might be draining it, charged the battery and put that in and car started up. it mostly happens at night with the lights on. so tonite i'll run it and see if it drains the battery again. not drive it just let run on driveway. if it keeps running it might have been the horn. it has a compressor on it for the air to power the horn . ???? thanks for imput. next i'll try pulling fuses.

If it started after you replaced the battery than it might be the battery. If you have one cell in the battery that is shorted it can pull the other cells down. Even though this is a new battery doesnt mean that is not defective. You might want to try just unhooking it and let it set overnight. Do a voltage reading when you unhook it and another the next morning when you go to hook it back up.

Well i think i got my problem with my car, after a new Alt. serp. belt and battery. belt tent. seems to be running good. keeping fingers crossed. now heater motor is working also. i guess it was a fuseable link somewhere. :banana: :3gears:
