Old thread. FYI, it took 5 rebuilds before it was finally done. I had to buy a hardend stub shaft. It has been hoding together fine. Although they did the repairs free (except the stub shaft), they tried to say I added mods that caused the failures. Thanks to the numerous on line threads that documented the various modifications install times and dates, I was able to quickly and easily show them in writing what was done when. They had no argument left and were obligated to make the repairs. They knew what kind of car they were getting to work on - period. My friends, the more documentation you have the better. My 89 Mustang needs a transmission also. I will probably go with Aamco for the nationwide warranty, or another online vendor. |

No personal experience but Glenn Burnie Transmissions are supposed to be one of the best around. Back in the day I had Joppa rebuild a 86 Chevy wagon with no issues |

Jim Jennings Trans in Middle River has a very good reputation here at the school. |

A friend of mine swears by Glen Burnie Transmission, so when my daughters Eclipse needed a transmission about 1 1/2 years ago I went there. Very nice professional place. They were able to give me my options and prices over the phone and the cost was a little cheaper when it was all said and done. Very good price. They even came to Jerry's Mitsubishi and picked the car up and took to their shop for no charge. They offer a 3 year 50K warranty also. It was reaasonable priced, but they through it in for free. I took the car back after a year for a check up and everything went great. I would recommend them. |

Charlie, I have always had good success with harford county transmssions. They are nice folks to deal with and respect peoples cars. They are located on newport drive in forest hill. |

I have used Glen Burnie Transmissions for years with all of my cars, mostly for transmission service, but have referred several friends of mine to them. They all raved about the service and fair pricing. Although he is now retired I know the owner, Marvin Keiser personally. His reputation is beyond reproach. His son in law Mark runs the business now and everything is still being done under Marvin's watchful eye. Midnight Blue MCOM Historian |
