Ford Motor Company has reported a 15% sales increase in March vs. the same month last year. Mark Fields, Ford's North American President, noted the continued increase in car sales and attributed most of that to pent up demand and a desire for more fuel efficient cars and trucks.
Ford made major investments in their line up of fuel efficient and stylish cars in the past several years and now they are seeing a huge return on investment.
Ford has worked very hard to build fuel efficient, yet powerful engines for all of their cars but we as Mustang enthusiasts are really benefiting from those efforts. The base Mustang V-6 engine puts out 305 HP and yet gets 31mpg on the highway! Of course the GT received a power boost to 420 HP and even that engine gets decent fuel economy in everyday driving conditions.
