| Post subject: | Covering Up Scratches |
Does anyone have some good recommendations of techniques/products to use to cover up scratches? I've had the car detailed, but unfortunately the scratches were too deep without taking out a lot of the clearcoat. I have a black mustang that I drive regularly enough to get scratched. Unfortunately since it's black...it always gets scratched. I found that the touch up paint does not look very clean (not very smooth at least). Any recommendations? I'm looking for both a "how to" and a product as well. Thanks! |

I have used the colored waxes in the past to hide scratches but not on my black Mustang. Basically it is a wax the same color as the car and it fills in the scratch temporarily. I tried it when I had a red Nissan Sentra back in the late 80s. That seemed to work until the wax wore off but I was always washing and waxing it so it was never an issue. |

Ok what is recommended is using the colored wax, there are a couple different brands that range in price. |
