Post subject: | Eagle One Gel Wax |
I have not waxed or polished my car since having it repainted at Maaco in early May. I was told to allow the paint to cure and wait at least 6-8 weeks before waxing or polishing the finish. I figure that with all of the hot weather we've had, 90 plus degree days and several over 100 degrees, if it hasn't cured by now it never will! So in preparation for the Hamilton Car Show I decided that this was the right time to wax my car. Normally I would use my old favorite polish, New Genesis, but I've been anxious to try out the new Gel Wax from Eagle One. This new Gel wax is supposed to go on and then be wiped off without having to wait for it to haze up. It's also supposed not to have any white residue left over and is safe to use on non metal parts such as trim without causing any discoloration. I'll follow up with a report on how this new product works out. The one thing I do like about this product is that it is supposed to add a carnauba wax finish to protect the finish and last longer than other premium waxes. We'll see... Good to know Eric. I'm hoping that this product will deliver the glossy, mirror shine I expect but will also give me the awesome protection I need to keep my finish looking new for years to come. The fact that it is easy to use is a bonus! Midnight Blue MCOM Historian |

Well I waxed the car this morning and the Eagle One lived up to it's hype. It goes on easy and comes off fairly easy. I'm still used to waiting for a bit of haze to show so this is a different experience. That said it did a really nice job and the car looks great! An added benefit was that this wax also removed some ground in brake dust on the aluminum wheels and the wheels now look great too! There is no white residue or powdery substances left over after waxing so that is a big help. Now I'll have to see about the durability and how long I can go before rewaxing again.
