Has anyone installed rack and pinion steering in their early mustang. I saw a high priced conversion at Ford Carlisle. I also saw a 1967 Cougar that had what looked like a Mustang II rack under it. My steering box is real sloppy and thought the rack would be a nice upgrade. Any one been down this road before???? |

I haven't personally, but I keep hearing guys doing it with Mustang II front ends. Also, Tom Shockley (East Coast Automotive) put an aftermarket front-end in his '65/66 Mustang wagon... You can probably ask him what it is over on the newsgroup. Not sure if he looks here in the forums... |

I'm contemplating this conversion for the Falcon myself. I'll be engineering it myself, so no promises. I think I'm going to use a GM J/N body rack, allows me the most flexibility in mounting... |
