Post subject:  Fixing a 65 Mustang with a 1V Holley Carb- no run cond

My brother bought a 1965 Mustang Convertible a while back
which would not run steady and died quickly. Got it towed to my
house and worked on getting it right . Checked the fuel pump ,
and saw that it was working well. Put fresh gas in but still wouldnt
run continous. Figured the carb was the problem and needed a rebuid.
Available replacement carbs were high in price . Decided to get a rebuild kit and took the carb apart in car . The float assembly seemed to be failing and replaced it. New power and accelerator valves , and gaskets.
Also installed new points and plugs to spec , and wires . After charging the battery fired it up and it ran well . Hope this helps some of you .
I also have owned Fords since 1973 . A 70 Torino Cobra , 71 Torino Cobra , 70 Mustang Fastback , 73 Mustang Fastback, and 2 1973
Mustang Convertibles. Still a Ford Man.
Al

ps - really want to get my 73 Conv patched up soon. With a 351 C and
