The Parade is on Sunday March 15, 2015 and starts at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Monument, and continues to Pratt Street and Market Place. Like last year, we can meet on the Dunkin Donuts parking lot at the corner of E Madison and Guilford Ave (approx at 840 Guilford Ave, Baltimore, MD) Please be there no later than 11:45 am. Parade Lineup begins no earlier than 12:00 pm and no later than 1:00 pm. We will leave our MAC meeting spot at 12 pm. and Mach1Don will lead the group to the parade lineup at the Washington Monument. The day of the parade the Parade Committee will tell me where they want us to lineup. They usually have us line up in front of the Engineers Club at W Mt Vernon Pl. Current participants: 1. You had me worried there, Dave--I was worried that we weren't going to do the parade this year--Count me in for two as always-- I hope enough people see the post and sign up--I'd hate to have a poor showing |

Great turnout!!!--We had 18 cars in the parade today--Just a wee bit over the 12 car limit but somehow we made it work The weather (other than the wind) co-operated--Nice sunny skies and it finally warmed up to tolerable levels--Not really bathing suit weather but not bad for a drive through downtown Baltimore I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the parade p.s. one bonus thing--No street vendors thus no silly string and no poppers---Yea! |

Thank you to everyone that participated in the parade. We had a GREAT turn out and a good time (aside from the wind). I want to remind everyone that during parade routes, we do need to adhere to a few basic rules set forth by MCOM and usually the parade committees that invite us out to be part of their yearly tradition: 1. No burnouts during the parade route or leaving the parade. 2. No squirrely-ness while driving in the parade. 3. Be respectful to club members and work together as a team. Many times emotions will override our communication skills and we can easily portray ourselves negatively while simply trying to ensure these rules are maintained. What we need to keep in mind is that we all represent the club with every one of our actions while we are in the publics' eye. If there is ever an issue that starts to escalade, please involve one of the club officers so that it can be handled politically without feelings getting hurt on either side. I believe all had a great time during this parade and I look forward to everyone participating in future parades ad events. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me directly rather than venting on a public forum. |

This might be in the weeds here and I think maybe the basic liability scenario might be in order as to remind folks of the risks in smoking tires. I like getting stupid and I also know in our lawsuit driven world and the last thing our club needs is to fold under pressure. Like I said in the weeds and maybe a wee dramatic.
