The Northern Virginia Mustang Club is having a private track rental at Mason-Dixon Dragway on April 28, 2012 from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. http://www.northernvirginiamustangclub.com/ for information on paypal pre-payment. This is a great opportunity to see what you and your car are capable of in the 1/4 mile. There are plenty of people there in the club that will give you tips on how to drag race, so dont be afraid to ask questions. I hope to see everyone there. James

I think it is safe to say, you will be fine with your car as is. a helmet is only required if your car is faster then 13.99. I would however recommend using one regardless because you can never be too safe.

This is yet another reason for me to work on finding a helmet. I'm finding so many activities lately that I'd like to take my car to where that is my only limiting factor  . Oh well, perhaps for a birthday down the road. Adam |

Photos! Many thanx to Dave, Susan's husband for taking the photos of us racing! Everyone had a great time! For those who weren't there, you missed one heck of a lot of fun! Many of us got over 20 runs (5-Mile Club)! Several of us ended up in the final heats when they ran the dial-in race - Ron, Lynn, James, and me. And...to my surprise, I was in the final four! This was my second real drag race...and with a V6! Who'da thunk it??? NVMC is talking about hosting one in June. You should definitely try to make it, even just to support the club and those who want to try their hand at racing! If you've never raced before, not problem. They walk you through everything, and it's a friendly, and fun atmosphere. Well worth the $50 to play! Thanks to the Northern Virginia Mustang Club for inviting us!
