The Parade is on Sunday March 11, 2012 and starts at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Monument, and continues to Pratt Street and Market Place. Like last year, we can meet between the Merritt Athletic Club and the building north of the MAC. Please be there no later than 11:45 am. Parade Lineup begins no earlier than 12:00 pm and no later than 1:00 pm. We will leave our meeting spot at 12 pm. and drive together to the parade lineup. We need two groups of cars. One group of convertibles for the VIPs to ride in and another group to represent the club. The day of the parade the Parade Committee will tell me where they want both groups to lineup. Direction to MAC: Take 83 South to exit 4, which is St. Paul Street Turn Left on East Biddle Street Turn Right on Guilford Ave After crossing E. Madison Street, you will see a red building on your right. The parking lot is at the end of this building at the intersection of Guilford and E. Monument Street. Directions from MAC to Lineup: From there (the whole club) will take E. Monument west and make a left onto St. Paul Street and then a right on E. Hamilton Street. From there we will make a right onto N. Charles Street and this should take us to the area we need to be (Mt. Vernon Place- Washington Monument). |

I'm in for two--'73 Mach and '10 vert They're not going to make us the very last unit before the street sweepers again are they? If they love us enough to use our convertibles, matbe they could show the rest of the club a little love |

To bad. Would this have been your 5th or 6th year in a row? |

Count me in Dave. I missed a lot of events last year so I'm looking to make up for those lost opportunities. I was in this parade 2 years ago and had a great time. Midnight Blue MCOM Historian |

I think I've been to almost everyone, Dave--I think I missed one with a mechanical failure the morning of the parade--I really like the St Patty's day parade--It's all downhill--Easy to leave it in neutral and rev it for the crowd |

Excellent - I love parades! I'm there in my convertible. I don't mind driving vips but they have to sit in a seat, not on top. Ron |

I have avoided this parade after much talk of children running out to the car spraying silly string all over the place and putting mucho miles on the clutch. If as Don stated, the route is mostly down-hill, I would happily reconsider participating. |

Paul, the last time I was in this parade it was mostly a downhill ride from the area around the Walters Art Gallery where we started all the way down to Pratt St. I rode mostly in drive with my foot on the brake all the way down to Pratt St. There were not any kids shooting the green stringy stuff two years ago when I was last in the parade. Just a heads up. We are only a week away from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It is time to figure out how many cars we have going. Please post up if you plan on being a parade participant and if you have a convertible to parade the VIPs around in. Thanks. |

I want to come, I plan to come, I am looking forward to it but I have to install my daughter's new kitchen cabinets on Saturday and that is a big job that could go South so I am in reality a "Hope To". Sorry, I know that is not much of a help to you but it is just a fact I have to live with. |

I'm in as a participant but I'm bringing my daughter and my car is t top and I have race seats in it so If some body wants to ride in that's fine I'm taking the tops out but I don't want anybody sitting on the edge of my roof |

So we only have two, maybe three, participants for the Parade? And no convertibles in the lineup. I am surprised. Is any one else going to come out? |

Two years ago William Cole walked behind my car. He put his magnetic City Council sign on my doors but wanted to walk behind the car in order to interact with his constituents. The parade takes place in his district. He is a very nice man and sent me a personal email thanking me for participating in the parade with him. Midnight Blue MCOM Historian |
