I've always liked the new V6.... Alot more than my old 92 LX 5.0 even had....

The new V6 with 305 hp and 280 lb ft of torque has really upped the performance level for Mustang owners. The GT also ups the ante with 420 hp while the Boss has 444 hp. One can now buy a V6 Mustang and still have the performance of the previous GT model plus get better gas mileage! Isn't technology and competition a wonderful thing for the auto industry? No doubt, the 2013 Ford Mustang features various improvements across the board. One upgrade I'm happy to see is the optional SelectShift automatic shifter. The new six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission will allow the driver to run in full-automatic mode or manual mode when out on the open road. That means, when in manual mode, you'll have complete control over shift points, similar to a manual transmission. While the Mustang does not feature paddle shifters (bummer), manual mode can be operated via two buttons on the left side of the shifter knob. The knob itself is covered by leather and aluminum trim. |

That's great news about the six speed automatic. Now a person can enjoy the thrill of manual shifting with an automatic. A nice feature for those who still crave a manual transmission because of it's sportiness but must settle for an automatic due to physical limitations.  Midnight Blue MCOM Historian |
