NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Sunday's Big O Tires Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was the season's semifinal, and the nitro classes are separated by -- at most -- two points. In Funny Car, Ron Capps went 4.109 seconds, 311.34 mph in a Dodge Charger to beat Don Schumacher Racing teammate (RFC) Johnny Gray's 4.203, 295.08 mph. Jack Beckman qualified eighth in the Valvoline/Aaron's Dodge Charger and lost in the second round. Matt Hagan leads Beckman by one point. In Top Fuel, Del Worsham ran 3.823, 318.77 mph vs. Spencer Massey's 3.834, 323.74 mph. Massey tops Worsham by two points. In Pro Stock, (RFC) Jason Line lost in the semifinals but clinched the class crown. (RFC) Mike Edwards, in a GXP, powered to a 6.641, 208.30 mph win over (RFC) Allen Johnson's 6.668, 208.01 mph in a Dodge Avenger. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified seventh in the Valvoline GXP and lost in the second round. In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Eddie Krawiec had a 6.936, 194.30 mph pass to best Harley-Davidson teammate Andrew Hines' 6.995, 192.96 mph. Krawiec is 69 points clear of (RFC) Hector Arana Jr. |
