NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series

The traditional Western Swing began with Sunday's Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway, near Denver, with Spencer Massey, (RFC) John Force, (RFC) Mike Edwards and (RFC) Karen Stoffer the pro class winners.

In Top Fuel, Massey won for the third time this season. In an all-Don Schumacher team final, he ran 4.150, 269.67 mph vs. Tony Schumacher's 4.255, 266.95 mph. Del Worsham is 68 points ahead of Massey.

In Funny Car, Force got his first victory of the campaign in a Ford Mustang. He went 4.361, 285.23 mph as Matt Hagan left the starting line too soon in his Dodge Charger. Jack Beckman qualified ninth in the Valvoline/Aaron's Dodge Charger and lost in the first round. (RFC) Mike Neff tops (RFC) Robert Hight by 192 points.

In Pro Stock, Edwards collected his third Wally trophy this season. He clocked 6.970, 197.65 mph in a GXP as (RFC) Allen Johnson turned on the red light in his Dodge Avenger. Ron Krisher qualified 10th in the Valvoline GXP and lost in the first round. (RFC) Jason Line is six points clear of Edwards.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Stoffer's Suzuki had a 7.283, 182.58 mph pass vs. Michael Phillips' 7.394, 182.01 mph on a Suzuki. Stoffer is 33 points ahead of Eddie Krawiec.
