NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series
Larry Dixon, (RFC) Robert Hight and (RFC) Mike Edwards were the pro class winners in Sunday's rain-delayed Ford Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol, Tenn.
In Top Fuel, Dixon won for the first time this season. He powered to a 3.836 second, 318.09 mph victory over Antron Brown's 3.851, 306.19 mph. Del Worsham leads Dixon by 36 points.
In Funny Car, Hight got his fourth triumph of the campaign. His Ford Mustang ran 4.092, 314.90 mph as Jack Beckman's Valvoline/Aaron's Dodge Charger smoked the tires and clocked 5.615, 152.66 mph. Beckman had qualified fourth. (RFC) Mike Neff has a 60-point advantage over Beckman.
In Pro Stock, (RFC) Edwards' GXP went 6.685, 205.79 mph to Erica Enders' 11.863, 72.89 mph in a Chevrolet Cobalt which had mechanical problems. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified fifth in the Valvoline GXP and lost in the second round. (RFC) Jason Line tops Edwards by 24 points.
