The 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang
Jack's Newest 5.0 Muscle Mustang
What’s got 525 hp, 465 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 5.0L engine beneath its hood? Jack Roush’s new 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang of course. No doubt, this car will eat the pius Prius for breakfast. The 5XR owes much of its power to Ford’s new 5.0L engine. This is the same engine found in the new 2011 Mustang GT. Then there’s the R2300 ROUSHcharger.
ROUSH 20-inch chrome rims, complete with high-performance Cooper RS3 tires, connect the car to the road. The 5XR is also equipped with a ROUSH suspension kit, which the company says provides superior handling and ride control. The kit consists of front struts, rear shocks and rear springs, as well as front and rear stabilizer bars.
“I’m always excited to get an opportunity to work on a new engine, and the Ford 5.0-liter is a great platform. It has 412 horsepower to begin with, but our group was able to coax out another 113 horsepower with the ROUSHcharger. The 2011 ROUSH 5XR runs fast, sounds great, and is another amazing addition to the ROUSH Mustang heritage,” said Jack Roush, motorsports legend and chairman of ROUSH Enterprises.
On the outside the car stands apart from other Mustangs on the road. Appearance upgrades include a ROUSH front fascia with driving lamps, front chin splitter, side rocker splitters, rear valance, and three-piece decklid spoiler. It also sports a custom 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang graphics package, as well as a ROUSH exhaust emitting sweet Mustang sounds.
Options for the ROUSH 5XR include color-matched sport leather seats, big four-piston brakes with 14-inch slotted rotors, vent pod gauge, and a lower three-piece billet grille. Buyers can also select between coupe or convertible, each available with a six-speed manual only.
The ROUSH 5XR is a post-title package. This means you must first purchase a base Mustang GT at your local Ford-ROUSH Dealer. Unfortunately, the car will not be available in California. The suggested retail price for this package is $15,390, plus the cost of the base vehicle. Only 150 total cars will be built, each with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty on the powertrain and ROUSH components. In addition to the purchase of the package, each buyer will receive a letter of authenticity, personally signed by Jack Roush.
