NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series
Larry Dixon, (RFC) Tim Wilkerson, Greg Anderson and Matt Smith were the pro class winners in Sunday's Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio.
In Top Fuel, Dixon won for the seventh time this season, powering to a 3.880 second, 313.29 mph win over (RFC) Antron Brown, 3.907, 307.65 mph. Dixon tops Tony Schumacher by 176 points.
In Funny Car, (RFC) Wilkerson beat (RFC) John Force in a Ford Mustang final, 4.191, 300.40 mph vs. 4.272, 290.88 mph. Jack Beckman qualified third in the Valvoline/MTS Dodge Charger and lost in the second round. Force leads (RFC) Robert Hight by 73 points.
In Pro Stock, Anderson's Pontiac GXP clocked 6.722, 204.54 mph to best (RFC) Allen Johnson's 6.982, 159.38 mph in a Dodge Avenger. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified third in the Valvoline Chevrolet Cobalt and lost in the second round. Anderson won Saturday's $50,000 K&N Horsepower Challenge special event on a holeshot, 6.685, 206.23 mph vs. (RFC) Mike Edwards' 6.677, 207.11 mph. Edwards is 392 points clear of Allen Johnson.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Smith's Buell ran 7.076, 188.36 mph to top (RFC) Hector Arana's 7.080, 188.52 mph on a Buell. Arana is 120 points ahead of Smith.
