A co-worker suggested an online rescue facility when I mentioned I was interested in a dog. "Percy" was found in Georgia as a stray, picked up by a kill shelter, rescued within a day or two, moved to South Carolina, then Hanover PA. He's had a rough two months being moved from foster home to foster home, but I saw his pic online and had to visit. We bonded immediately and that was that. For a modest fee I get a 3yo "pup" fully vetted, fixed and housetrained, and full of love. Time will tell but he seems to be adjusting and is on the couch now going through a chew toy. He's obviously getting spoiled. Sorry to hijack the thread but I can't think of a better Christmas present to myself... |

Congratulations on your new rescued dog John! We also have a rescued dog. We got her when she was about a year and a half old and this coming May she will be 14 years old! We've had two pedigreed dogs over the year, a Long Haired Daschund and a Basset Hound. Our "Lu" is part Rotty, part Shepard and part Retreiver and 100% lovable. Dogs are very adaptable and yours will soon become part of the family and you can never spoil them enough.
