NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series
Spencer Massey, a potential rookie of the year, (RFC) Robert Hight, Larry Morgan and Andrew Hines were the pro class winners in Sunday's Las Vegas Nationals.
In Top Fuel, Massey ran 3.827 seconds, 314.53 mph to beat Larry Dixon's tire-smoking 5.503, 174.87 mph. Tony Schumacher is number 1 in points, ahead of Dixon by just one point.
In Funny Car, Hight clocked 4.125, 304.46 mph in a Ford Mustang to overcome Jack Beckman's 4.154, 303.16 mph in the Valvoline/MTS Dodge Charger. Beckman qualified eighth. Hight is number 1 in points, ahead of (RFC) Ashley Force Hood by105 points.
In Pro Stock, Morgan's Dodge Stratus went 6.720, 205.69 mph vs. (RFC) Rickie Jones' 6.794, 203.16 mph in a Stratus. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified the Valvoline Chevrolet Cobalt third but lost in the third round. (RFC) Mike Edwards is number 1 in points, ahead of Greg Anderson by 139 points.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Hines' Harley won with a 6.998, 190.70 mph when (RFC) Hector Arana turned on the right light first. Arana is number 1 in points, ahead of Eddie Krawiec by 54 points.
Only one race left in the season (Pomona) with a maximum total of 150 possible points. (RFC) Robert Hight and Mike Edwards only need one round win to get the Coveted Golden Walley. Yea
