NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Sunday's Northwest Nationals, near Seattle, ended with (RFC) Tim Wilkerson, (RFC) Antron Brown and (RFC) Mike Edwards in the winner's circle. In Funny Car, Wilkerson's Ford Mustang won for the first time this season, with a 4.211 second, 291.01 mph vs. Tony Pedregon's 4.283, 289.57 mph in a Chevrolet Impala. Jack Beckman qualified 14th in the Valvoline/MTS Dodge Charger and lost in the second round. Ron Capps leads (RFC) Ashley Force Hood by 21 points. In Top Fuel, Brown ran 3.985, 301.07 mph against Tony Schumacher's 3.990, 300.00 mph. Brown is 137 points ahead of Schumacher. In Pro Stock, Edwards' Pontiac GXP clocked 6.583, 211.03 mph to Jason Line's 6.601, 210.50 mph in a GXP. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified sixth in the Valvoline Chevrolet Cobalt and made it to the semifinals. (RFC) Jeg Coughlin Jr. is 20 points clear of Edwards. |
