NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series
Sunday's Schuck's Auto Supply Nationals, near Seattle, saw Tony Bartone get his first national win in Funny Car. Bartone's Chevrolet Monte Carlo had a 4.454 second, 238.17 mph 1,000-foot pass to best Ron Capps' 4.708, 227.46 mph in the NAPA Dodge Charger. Jack Beckman qualified the Valvoline Dodge Charger 14th and lost in the second round.

In Top Fuel, Tony Schumacher won for the seventh time. His Army dragster clocked 3.902, 309.98 mph at 1,000 feet to better Brandon Bernstein's 4.056, 291.78 mph. Schumacher is a runaway 357 points ahead of Antron Brown.
In Pro Stock, which ran to a quarter-mile, Jason Line's Pontiac GXP had a 6.659, 208.10 mph pass to top (RFC) Allen Johnson's 6.664, 207.78 mph in a Dodge Stratus. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified fifth in the Valvoline Chevy Cobalt and lost in the first round. Greg Anderson tops Kurt Johnson by 79 points.
