Well, after many ups and downs, the old guy is finally on the road to recovery! In fact, my mom just called, and told me he is being discharged this afternoon! He still has a way to go, but he's doing much better. Thanks to everyone who has has kept us in their thoughts and prayers!!!
Hi everyone,
This is just to let you know that my dad, Jim Sr (green 1990 7up car), was rushed to the hospital this past Saturday for what was thought to be a heart attack. He's suffering from Acute Heart Failure. The prognosis isn't good, and he's getting weaker by the day. I'll let you know if anything changes. Thanks.

Well, he's stable for now. They're still searching for the cause, which, of course, is delaying treatment. But the outlook now is better then it was a few days ago. Thanks, everyone, for your support.

Well, it looks as if papa-san will be coming home soon. They even think they pinpointed the cause. It looks as if an over-the-counter cold medicine (AirBourne) caused a toxic reaction with a virus that had settled in the old man's heart. The toxic shock caused the heart to attempt to stop, prompting the generation of rouge nerve cells (cells that were already there, they just got reprogrammed) to attempt to keep the heart going. The problem is these cells confused the two nodes responsible for muscle contraction in the heart, and the heart couldn't complete a contraction cycle because of it. This caused rapid deterioration and thickening of the muscle walls. Fortunately, it was caught before it killed him, and may not have caused any permanent damage. He'll be wearing a difibrulator vest for awhile as a precaution, and be on some meds for a few months, but he should eventually be fine!!! Thanks for everyones' prayers and concern!
BTW, apparently AirBourne is being investigated because of multiple reports of incidents like this.... food for thought.
