I keep forgetting to take picts of it before I go to work.

I'll try tomorrow (tues am) and post them up when I get to work.

I think it came out ok ... I was a nOOb about spreading the paint chips .. so where I started there are obvious patterns/piles and spaces, but by the time I got to the end of the first side it was looking nice.

So now when I get to do Evelyns' side it should ALL be perfect!

The Yellow tape it to remind the MRS to NOT drive into the garage till 10.22.07

This is the 'good looking' end.

This is where I started .. see the difference?! :banghead:

Still have the other side to clean and epoxy ... then the walls and ceiling to remud and paint. Hopefully we can get that done this winter. Then replacement double walled, insulated garage doors are being looked at as for next spring/summer.

One kit did one side of my garage... slightly more than 50% of the total space. (About 10.5x20) and I had about 1/3 of the kit left over.

Image

Just means that when I go to do the other side I am expecting to have about 1/2 a can left over. Kind of a waste, but there isn't much else that is concrete that I want epoxied gray. When it comes time to do the other side, I may use some of the leftovers and cover up the tops of the cinder blocks that stick up on the outside edge of the floor. We chose to leave it at first, but the more I look at it the more I want to have it covered. So when the walls get nice and painted there won't be this nasty raw looking concrete staring at you.

Oh, I am also having a crazy idea about putting down truck bed liner spray where the tires would roll into the garage. This making sure that the nice epoxy would stay clean and where ever the tires roll/park wouldn't really change due to the liner being down...

I thought about doing that. Getting a big Ford or Mustang vinyl and putting it under a coat of clear. That would be cool! Or you could have Evelyn cutout in vinyl and put it on the floor near the door.

Down side to that is the possible effect that would have on the resale value of the house ... if we ever decided to move. You'd have to love Ford, or break down and recoat the floor just to cover it up.

I am going to decorate the walls with stuff, but nothing permanent.

True but we feel we will be in our house for a while anyway.

A hint I saw about laying out the flecks was to use a parmesian cheese container and shake them out. A little late for now but when you do the other side it may help.

You have motivated me to do the same and provided me with a great winter project. Finish the garage walls, ceiling and floor details...

Both sides painted

Gloss topcoat down ... paints white at first and clears out as it dries.

Problem spot under Evelyn. Apparently I may not have gotten enough of the oil cleaned up. Its really hard to see, but there are pin holes coming through where the epoxy isn't quite sticking.

Looks great man! Hmmm not sure what to do about those pin holes. Well if you put a drip pan down no one will see them.

The Mrs and I have exchanged out two of her cookie sheets for me to use for two new ones from Target. They are a little smaller than an automotive tray would be, but I've got two. Should work out.

Watching it dry is killin me. Oh, btw its all clear again. The white clear coat dried out enough to turn clear. Had to tip-toe across it some to get a leaf that had blown in under the door.

72 hours puts me at Tues night. :btu:
