NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series
Del Worsham, Jeff Arend, Vincent Nobile and Andrew Hines were the pro class winners in Sunday's O'Reilly Spring Nationals, near Houston.
In Top Fuel, Worsham won for the third time this season. He ran 3.880 seconds, 318.99 mph to best teammate Larry Dixon's 3.900, 316.82 mph. Worsham leads Dixon by 95 points.
In Funny Car, Arend's Toyota Solara clocked 4.266, 297.68 mph as (RFC) Mike Neff red-lighted in his Ford Mustang. Neff leads (RFC) Robert Hight by 18 points. Jack Beckman qualified ninth in the Valvoline/Aaron's Dodge and lost in the semifinals.
In Pro Stock, rookie Vincent Nobile won for the first time and, at 19, became the youngest winner in class history. He went 6.625, 209.72 mph in a Dodge Avenger for a holeshot victory over Rodger Brogdon's 6.624, 208.78 mph in a GXP. (RFC) Jason Line tops (RFC) Greg Stanfield by one point. (RFC) Ron Krisher qualified eighth in the Valvoline GXP and lost in the first round.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Hines' Harley had a 6.900, 195.14 mph pass vs. Michael Phillips' 6.946, 195.25 mph on a Suzuki. (RFC) Eddie Krawiec leads Hines by 18 points.
