Thank you all for your concern and most of all for prayer for me and my family. We are doing well and are enjoying the peace of our Lord Jesus. I am now in a 13 week recovery period and somewhat (very) impatient to drive again.

I have never taken any medication regularly or spent a day in the hospital. At 67, I still stay within 10 pounds of my high school weight. I was struck with a heart attack without any real symptoms other than a strange feeling in my left side. I had open heart surgery for a triple by-pass on 3 of 5 arteries affected with blockages. Six days later, at home, one of the by-passes got blocked and so I had another heart attack this time with all of the mind-blowin pain that often accompanies them. I now have a stint in that blocked one.

May I share some thoughts with you who know you or a loved one SHOULD make diet and life style changes and yet continue to just plain put it off. The fact is life goes on routinely and one day you are dead, often without warning. 35% of folks like me just drop dead. Learn your risk factors. Walk 20 minutes a day, eat less, eat smart, stick around for your loved ones and us.

I just saw this. Hoping you have a very speedy recovery, Paul. As someone that just entered their 50s, I'm very aware of the risk factors and at least try to eat right MOST of the time, and exercise MOST of the time. But no one is immune to the fickleness of fate.

Good luck and be well...

John

This is the first time that I saw this post as well and after the shock of hearing what you just went through Paul, you know that you and your family will be in my prayers too.

Here's wishing you a full and speedy recovery! May God bless you and your family.
