NHRA Powerade Drag Racing Series
Tony Schumacher, (RFC) Tim Wilkerson, (RFC) Mike Edwards and Craig Treble were winners in Sunday's O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals, near Memphis.
In Top Fuel, Schumacher resumed his dominant season with a 3.880 second, 309.91 mph 1,000-foot pass vs. Doug Herbert's 3.979, 295.85 mph. Schumacher is 166 points clear of Cory McClenathan.
In Funny Car, (RFC) Wilkerson's Chevrolet Impala clocked 4.166, 298.47 mph vs. Ashley Force's 4.183, 294.18 mph in a Ford Mustang. Jack Beckman qualified the Valvoline Dodge Charger fifth and lost in the second round. Wilkerson is 87 points up on Beckman.
In Pro Stock, (RFC) Edwards' Pontiac GXP ran 6.702, 207.27 mph in the quarter-mile to oust Jason Line's GXP's tire-shaking 16.481, 48.20 mph. (RFC) Ron Krisher didn't qualify in the Valvoline Chevy Cobalt. Jeg Coughlin Jr. is 32 points ahead of Kurt Johnson.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Treble's Suzuki went 6.985, 188.57 mph as Eddie Krawiec's Harley broke after staging. Matt Smith is 42 points ahead of Krawiec.
