Cory McClenathan, Tim Wilkerson and Jason Line were the pro winners in Sunday's SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In Top Fuel, Cory Mac's Fram dragster powered to a 4.654 second, 315.86 mph win over Antron Brown's 4.703, 315.93. NHRA fined Don Schumacher Racing $100,000 for possessing nitromethane fuel in its pro pit area, a violation of the rules. Kevin Harvick is exploring a team partnership with Bob Vandergriff. Tony Schumacher is 35 points ahead of Larry Dixon.
In Funny Car, Wilkerson's Chevrolet Impala ran 4.962, 292.58 mph to edge Ashley Force's Ford Mustang's 4.993, 313.95 mph. Jack Beckman qualified fifth in the Valvoline Dodge Charger but lost in the first round. John Force didn't qualify. Ashley is five points up on Wilkerson, the first woman to lead the FC standings.
In Pro Stock, Line's Pontiac GXP clocked 6.782, 203.83 mph to best Greg Stanfield's 6.816, 203.16 mph in another GXP. Ron Krisher qualified fourth in the Valvoline Chevy Cobalt but lost in the first round. Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Line are tied for the class lead.
