My sister bought a new 07 GT Vert from Apple Ford in Columbia. She now has about 15K miles on it now. She took it in for an oil change on the 1st of April. They called her a told her that the VIN does not match. Come to find out the VIN on the door does not match the one on the dash. Completly different. Hers is a vista blue automatic with black leather which matches the dash VIN. The door comes back to a car in California a different shade of blue, tand interior and a 5 speed trans. The service manager wont do anything about this he said not to worry about it and ignore the one on the door.
I called fords customer service # and they told me the same thing. They said they can not reprint another door decal because there will be 2 of the same door decals floating around which is illegal. I told Ford that something is going to happen wheather they like it or not. We are not going to quit untill her car has all the VINs match!
Any suggestions? Check your VIN!!
Also there are no VINs on the fenders, trunk, quarters, hood. Should there be?
